no + politics or What We Want / Edition Glasgow< is an interdisciplinary theater.tanz.PERFORMANCE for a temporary collective of dancers, actors, visual artists and musicians from Glasgow and tatraum projekte schmidt . Together they create in a 1-week rehearsal process based on the Düsseldorf performance of >no + politics< the >Edition Glasgow<. In terms of content, they deal with the erosion process in which many democracies (and Europe) find themselves.

Since the described mixed situation is considered a European phenomenon, tatraum projekte already entered into a temporary cooperation with European colleagues such as the British video artist Simon Fildes / Goat for the ‚Edition Düsseldorf‘. This was followed by a collaboration with the Hungarian production venue Art Quartier Budapest and local performers. This is how the ‚Edition Budapest‘ came into being in 2017. This artistic-political work is now being continued in Glasgow through a collaboration with the Centre of Contemporary Arts (CCA) and performers from Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Review

… the performative work with the unknown colleagues, the other spaces at the other place is multilayered + intense … the performance continues to develop even after more than a year’s break… –

…it is alive and so current-present that it causes fear of the audience’s reactions in some performers…the collaboration grows through the artistic friction. It was just right that we were in this exciting city with this performance, at this time….

press review: „Ultimately, though, the piece works as a European adult playground, and speaks to the complicated truth: that we are fallible, and somewhat ridiculous – confused children in adult skin. We can relocate, fill our little lives with tech, home comforts and all the empty trappings of consumerism, but we can never escape our selves.“ Exeunt Magazine, read it here .
